InRhythm strives to enhance, accelerate and execute client digital roadmaps by building tailored solutions from the ground up. As a digital product consultancy, InRhythm combines design thinking, software engineering, and agile methodologies to create highly scalable platform applications and customized products in ways that challenge and advance the status quo. Gunjan Doshi, Founder and CEO of InRhythm, sat down with Consulting to discuss the firm.
Consulting: What were the main factors that contributed to your firm's exceptional growth?
Doshi: The digital economy is accelerating, and our focus in partnering with our customers to help them accelerate their digital transformation efforts has been the pivotal factor. Our pods of experts rapidly deliver software products using the latest and best advancements in modern tools and agile thinking. Our methodologies, technologies, and people enable ultra-efficient innovation in our core practices areas: Modern Engineering, Lean UX and Product Design, Devops and Cloud Automation, and Enterprise Agile Process, which are helping us move ahead.
Consulting: How is this year shaping up for your firm?
Doshi: We are expanding to new regions. Earlier this year we opened up our St. Louis office in order to best serve our mid-west clients and expand our portfolio. We have added more members to the sales team, and have brought on a marketing function to expand our opportunities through account-based marketing. This is a huge pivot for us as we have previously done business 100 percent through referrals, but as we look to grow the business we understand the impact of active marketing and lead generation.
Consulting: How would you describe your firm's outlook for 2020? Where do you see the most opportunities?
Doshi: We are excited to continue our growth and expansion. There are opportunities we are looking to pursue in cities where we currently don't have a presence, and having the right team in place is going to allow us to broaden our reach. We have also expanded our product offerings in order to address the pain points we've heard from many clients over the years, which we will go to market with in full force come 2020.
Consulting: What are your firm's biggest challenges in 2020?
Doshi: As a digital consulting firm in NYC , hiring the best talent is always going to be a challenge. Over 10 percent of the nation's developers are living in the NYC metro area, and in 2018 alone the New York City tech sector represented 333,000 jobs. With companies like Google, Facebook, WeWork and Uber planting their roots in NYC, our challenge is to be able to attract the best talent without having a household name. Many engineers feel development is an opportunity they won't get at a huge tech company, which is why we have built the foundation of our business on learning and growth.
Consulting: What does being named a Fastest Growing Firm mean to your firm, employees and clients?
Doshi: At the end of the day, our great people are who make the difference. Our business wouldn't be in a high-growth state without talented people working together as a united team, and we see it as our responsibility to ensure they have opportunities to keep growing. Our culture is all about standing out versus blending in, and receiving this recognition is evidence of that. Our clients value our deep expertise and ability to drive product development with the highest sense of urgency.
