The 2019 Rising Stars of the Profession: Kelsey Miller

Age: 30

During World War II, Kelsey Miller's great grandparents were interned as Japanese-American citizens. Throughout their journey of leaving their home, living at camp, and returning to nearly nothing, they demanded perseverance, pride, and positivity—values that have now transcended generations. "I was raised to find the good in everyone and everything," Miller says.

Advice that has served her well thus far in her career. Ask her about other advice she's received over the course of her career and she says a mentor once told her: "Find the place [to work] that feels like home.

"I am lucky to have found a company that supports me and encourages me to bring my values and my whole self to work."

And she loves that a consulting career requires a lifetime of learning to keep up with the constant change and new challenges, she says.

Through leadership of a cohort of early career associates within Point B, Miller has had the opportunity to participate in the personal and professional development of many others in the firm.

"The ambition of our emerging leaders is inspiring and contagious," Miller says. "I am really honored to play a small part in their progression by creating space for honest dialogue, providing thoughtful mentorship, and opening doors to new opportunities."

And now that has led Miller to be recognized as one of the Rising Stars of The Profession for her Excellence in Leadership for her work both inside the firm and with clients.

"I am incredibly humbled to receive this award," Miller says. "I am reminded that there is more work to do, there are more people to serve, and I am inspired to continue growing."
