The Global Leaders in Consulting: John Goddard

Of late, he's proud to say he's been working with one of the largest corporate clients in L.E.K.'s industrials practice to deliver a transformation in financial performance and organizational effectiveness. He's also overseen the preparation of a Ridership & Revenue report to support a client with the proposed Texas High Speed Rail project, which it expects will have a major positive impact on the region. And, he's led on the development of expert evidence in connection with a legal claim for one of his clients. 

Plus, two Principals he's been mentoring will become Partners of the firm in 2019—great news for L.E.K. He has been mentor to eight of the firm's European Partners. 

Goddard has a track record of leadership across industry sectors, major client relationships and L.E.K.'s corporate development. He has played an influential role in the liberalization of transport sectors globally and has made contributions to L.E.K.'s growth, serving on the Global Leadership Team and as the first head of L.E.K. in Europe. He's also been involved in transport developments across Europe, advising major transport operators, leading freight and logistics providers, public sector authorities and regulatory bodies.

"Alongside of developing L.E.K.'s Global Rail practice and leading the transformation of the firm's governance structure, I've had the privilege of serving as the first head of L.E.K.'s European region." 

Goddard says he relishes solving tough business problems and he's driven by a desire to achieve the very best results for clients. "Every client and problem is different, and I enjoy deploying new techniques to solve the most complex challenges," he says. "Each assignment gives me the opportunity to learn about new businesses and technologies, and to work with extraordinarily talented people across a variety of sectors."

Goddard says he strives to go above and beyond his clients' expectation. "The fast-paced nature of my role means that I am constantly developing new solutions to complex business issues and building on my broad knowledge base," he says. "I also take care to build the capability of my teams, ensuring each member receives the right degree of responsibility to facilitate their rapid development."

Q&A:  What does being recognized as a Global Leader in Consulting mean to you? Your firm? Your clients?

Goddard: Over the past 29 years, I've had the honor of supporting some of the world's most successful companies, and every new assignment presents highly stimulating commercial challenges. The people at L.E.K. are a tremendously talented group, and I'm fortunate to work so closely alongside of them. For these reasons my job is incredibly rewarding, and being recognized as a Global Leader is a fantastic acknowledgement of all that we've achieved together.
