The firm's focus is on helping clients be more nimble and adaptable in a rapidly changing business environment. "We do this by working with clients to deliver solutions to complex business problems," says Amy Weeden, Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Propeller. "We say that we help 'big act small' because most of our clients are large, complex organizations." Well, Propeller is small acting big… at least when it comes to performance as the firm has been a mainstay on the Fastest Growing Firms ranking list, as well as several other Consulting magazine awards, including the Best Small Firms to Work For and the Excellence in Social & Community Investment awards. Consulting caught up with Weeden to discuss Propeller's exceptional financial performance and outstanding track record of revenue growth.
Consulting: What were the main factors that contributed to your firm's exceptional growth?
Weeden: Propeller has experienced such exceptional growth over the last six-and-a-half years as a direct result of our laser-sharp focus on maintaining a strong company culture and community of consultants who are ever-dedicated to client service and delivering outstanding results at the client site. It is this unrelenting commitment to our people that lays the foundation for a strong business and enables us to continue to grow at an aggressive rate.
Consulting: How is this year shaping up for your firm?
Weeden: Propeller is on track to hit or exceed nearly all of our revenue and growth goals for 2018 and we are eagerly looking forward to the continued aggressive goals we will set for ourselves in 2019.
Consulting: How would you describe your firm's outlook for 2019? Where do you see the most opportunities?
Weeden: Propeller's outlook for 2019 is extremely positive, as we have built a strong foundation on which to grow. Moving into 2019, we will begin to build off this base as we continue and establish ourselves in a third geography.
Consulting: What would you say are your firm's biggest challenges in 2019?
Weeden: Our biggest challenge in 2019 will be accelerating our growth and most specifically the development of our employees to support this growth.
Consulting: What does being named one of Consulting's Fastest Growing Firms mean to your firm, your employees and your clients?
Weeden: Propeller is extremely proud to be named one of Consulting's Fastest Growing Firms. We believe in setting aggressive goals, but also foundationally believe in being smart about how we pursue those goals. Our fantastic employee base is at the core of our rapid growth and we wouldn't be where we are today without such amazing staff.
