Maven Wave is a technology consulting firm and Google Cloud Premier Partner, which helps enterprises harness the cloud for data-driven digital transformation. Combining consulting expertise with agility, Chicago-based Maven Wave guides clients to digital innovation, providing solutions that are flexible, rooted in analytics, and built in the cloud, says Brian Farrar, Partner and Co-founder. Farrar sat down with Consulting to discuss.
Consulting: What were the main factors that contributed to your firm's exceptional growth?
Farrar: In short, Maven Wave's exponential growth has been fueled by the following factors: Rapid adoption of cloud computing by large enterprises and corporations; Strategic use of big data across the value chain; Realization that sophisticated machine learning models provide unique insight for organizations; and, a strong, meaningful relationship with Google Cloud, as well as other partners. Over the past decade, enterprises have witnessed the remarkable shift to a consumer-based approach that is embedded into rapid technological advancement on a global scale. When Maven Wave was founded by current partners Jeff Lee, Jason Lee, and Brian Farrar, there were only glimmers of digital transformation happening across the enterprise space. Cloud adaptation was slow and limited to just a handful of industries, and data's potential to change the business landscape was not fully realized. But as industry veteran consultants, they saw promise in not only implementing but laying the foundation for, change management across larger companies that tend to be a bottleneck for innovation.
Consulting: How is this year shaping up for your firm?
Farrar: Maven Wave has seen year-over-year growth, and 2018 is shaping up to be the best year yet for the company. Maven Wave anticipates growth to proceed at a pace of over 80 percent this year, reaching revenues north of $85 million for 2018.
Consulting: How would you describe your firm's outlook for 2019?
Farrar: Maven Wave is excited about our prospects for 2019. Enterprise clients are increasingly integrating business process, data, and applications with artificial intelligence to gain insight, create new services, and modernize their businesses for the digital era. Maven Wave's service proposition, skill sets, and experiences are uniquely positioned to assist world-class companies in adapting these technologies to their businesses. Although Maven Wave assists clients in a variety of industries, we see 2019 as a year that financial services, health care, and high-tech manufacturing firms make substantial commitments to these efforts. Given our previous experiences in these spaces, we believe we are well positioned for substantial growth.
Consulting: What would you say are your firm's biggest challenges?
Farrar: Finding top quality talent with cloud skills and the x-factor we look for in a Maven Wave is the number one challenge we face in growing the company.
