Red Cloud's professional services include Strategic Planning, Process Improvement, Project and IT Product Management, Sales and Marketing, and Business Intelligence Services. Brett Alston, Managing Partner, sat down with Consulting to discuss the firm's hyper growth.

Consulting:  What were the main factors that contributed to your firm's exceptional growth?

Alston: It's no secret that our regional, state, and even local economies are some of the hottest in the entire nation drawing thousands of new tech and "gig economy" workers here to live and work. Having been anchored in this community for more than two decades, we have been fortunate to have seen the growth first hand, and since our firm's distinct pivot in 2015 towards business and IT consulting we've helped drive that regional growth ourselves. 

Consulting:  How is this year shaping up for your firm?

Alston: 2018 is again wrapping up as a strong year for RedCloud. Like other firms in the Pacific Northwest, we have built a strong foundation on providing services to the region's (and nation's) large tech companies. However in 2018 we've bolstered our efforts to expand into critical projects for travel, hospitality, insurance, consumer products, retail, government, aerospace, and defense. These projects cover a variety of services including product launches, data security, privacy, sales, and marketing analytics.

Consulting: How would you describe your firm's outlook for 2019? 

Alston: While continued growth in 2019 will always be on our mind to enable our ongoing scale up and provide interesting, varied, and unique project opportunities for our consultants, investing back in the firm to ensure long-term stability, quality resources for our team, and ultimately unmatched results for a clients is now our top priority as a 'grown up' firm. 

Consulting: What would you say are your firm's biggest challenges in 2019?

Alston: With an extremely tight labor market, and sitting in one of the region's hottest tech markets, we know we'll be challenged to find and retain the top talent that has made us who we are. That said, we feel our approach is resonating with seasoned consultants who want purpose, balance, while working on the hottest trends in the industry like cybersecurity, data protection, and advanced data analytics. 

Consulting:  What does being named one of Consulting's Fastest Growing Firms mean to your firm, your employees and your clients?

Alston: For our firm, this is again validation that our journey we set off on three years ago is real and resonating with both our team members and our clients. We know rapid growth isn't sustainable as a company matures, however to be named again to this list puts us amongst great company in the consulting industry. Our employees, both veterans and new to the team, are excited about not just the recognition, but what it means in the longer term—that RedCloud has grown to the stage where new opportunities abound for them to challenge themselves and work on meaningful projects that matter. And finally in regards to our clients, this recognition in part belongs to them.
