The 2018 Rising Stars of the Profession: Ketan Patel

A Global Partner at PwC once told Ketan Patel that it's his network—not necessarily always knowing the right answer, but knowing the right people—that will set him apart. "Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to work with executives on key growth strategies and revenue producing data solutions," Patel says. "When the strategy and solution called for a specific skillset, I was able to leverage my network to find the appropriate resource for my client."

Along those same lines, Patel says the biggest factor in his success is the ongoing support from his team, mentors, and family. "I cannot be more thankful for the team around me."

Patel is a Director at PwC with more than 10 years of experience specializing in risk and compliance analytics across large financial institutions within the Internal Technology Audit Solutions practice.

"From assisting global financial institutions in designing and implementing emerging technologies to building data solutions for health care clients, there's never been a dull moment," he says "I have provided financial clients new strategies in cost reduction through automation. I have worked with health care payers and providers to combat fraud, waste and abuse through data analytics."

Ask him about his achievements thus far and he'll say "assisting a large multinational bank that didn't have the resources to complete the audit in house based on the strict deadline. We were able to increase the completeness and accuracy for the client, while decreasing the effort spent with our automated processes. The ability to assist clients in different cities, countries, and even industries is something that only the consulting career will permit."

As far as being named one of the Rising Stars of the Profession, Patel says the award is "not an individual achievement, but shows that I am surrounded by individuals that support and motivate me."
