Consulting: As we close out 2015, where is your firm today?
Ritter: Point B is at its healthiest position in our 20-year history—not just by profits, but by the quality outcomes we deliver with our clients. Our client-service scores are some of the highest in the industry. Our financials, as represented by a 69 percent jump in our employee stock price and 111 percent growth in earnings over last year, illustrate growth we're excited to see. And Point Bers upheld our values and have shared their time, money and leadership talents with their communities. We were surprised by the rapid shift in oil prices that rocked the energy sector early in 2015. It's presented new opportunities to support clients in reducing costs and devising new ways to grow.
Consulting: How would you describe your firm's outlook for 2016?
Ritter: Point B has well-positioned itself for the future. We see tremendous opportunity in 2016. We anticipate a similar, or better, year of growth in addition to more aggressive geographic expansion in the Midwest, East Coast and Southeast. We'll continue to diversify our business beyond consulting, venture investment and property development to bring the unique problem-solving mindset of Point B to more people.
Consulting: What specific signs are you seeing that suggest an increase or decrease in demand?
Ritter: We anticipate an increase in demand, even beyond our supply. Our growth strategies, brand and capability set are championed by the client's we serve and speak to our brand of leadership, which begins with putting people first and ends in extraordinary business outcomes.
Consulting: How do you see the profession evolving in 2016?
Ritter: We believe the fundamental value our profession provides is not just getting something done, but also understanding why a vision is important and what the expected outcomes look and feel like to our clients. Then we roll-up our sleeves and execute.
Consulting: What do you see as the biggest opportunities in 2016?
Ritter: Our biggest opportunities include leading our existing clients through some of their most strategic work, facing fresh challenges head-on with new clients, and expanding our geographic footprint, all while balancing the challenges growth and development bring by remaining true to our commitment to culture and achieving extraordinary client outcomes.
