Roy Lee, a Manager in the Nonprofit Group with Accenture, believes all consultants, at their core, want to do work that is meaningful. "When I watch my fellow consultants on the job, I sense that they truly enjoy themselves and their work," Lee says. "All of us want that in our jobs. I am drawn by people who find passion in what they do."
He says the only reason he has the opportunity to do meaningful work is because of the inspiring drive and work of the people at Accenture and support from his family.
"This opportunity is a reflection of a larger network. I am here with all of the amazing people who have guided me here at this moment of my career and my life," Lee says.
Lee often takes on responsibilities above his level, including managing the client relationship for a national business economy-oriented nonprofit.
He was solely responsible for the strategy and delivery for their veteran initiative. Under his leadership, the program made a transformational shift and has since reached over 14,000 veterans supporting their transition into the civilian workforce. The client has credited the success of the program to Lee's leadership.
"I am proud of supporting the growth of the nonprofit group," Lee says. "The level of pride I have in my colleagues and teams and their own accomplishments inspires me to work harder every day. The entrepreneurial spirit in my group fosters an exciting and challenging atmosphere. Every day I wake up and help someone solve problems. It drives me to think harder, work faster, and be better so that our work to our clients makes a positive change."
