If there's anything happening in the world of cybersecurity, it's a safe bet Protiviti's Randy Armknecht knows all about it.
Armknecht, a 30-year old Associate Director with Protiviti, is a true information security leader who can dive deep into the details of a security environment one minute, and then communicate effectively with executives or a board of directors the next.
"The people that surround me have been the biggest factor to my success so far. All through my career, I've looked at those around me to understand the traits I'd most like to emulate, and the traits I'd like to avoid repeating myself," he says. "No matter the work style or person's background, in industry or consulting, there has always been something to learn from everyone I work with. Being open to the idea that at any time I may learn a better approach has been very beneficial."
Beneficial to both his clients and his firm. Armknecht was instrumental in growing Protiviti's Chicago security practice by 40 percent in 2014 and leading security project teams at many new clients.
"I get the most excited when I'm able to really connect with a client and help them develop the vision to transform their security posture and see it being implemented," he says. "Knowing that clients have succeeded in their goals, due to the work that our team performed, is a very rewarding and exciting feeling."
As far as winning the award, Armknecht says it's a sense of recognition that his dedication to providing insights to clients is on the right track. "It means that by continuing to work and grow together, our team is just scratching the surface of what it can achieve."
