Ask Emmanuel Legbeti, a 32-year-old Principal in Strategy&'s Operations Practice, what excites him most about his consulting career and he says: "what we are building at Strategy&. Now that we are part of PwC, we have such a broad set of skills we can bring to our clients, and we can help them build the capabilities they need for the future."
Legbeti says he still gets excited helping clients be successful, and by the diversity and nuance of problems he's asked to solve in partnership with them. "I am inspired by the work itself, and also by the people we get to work with," Legbeti says.
"My team and I often make strong personal connections with our great clients when we're working hard together."
Legbeti points to one project, in particular, where he and his team ended up sitting around the client's kitchen table writing slides with his family and his dog in the next room. "It actually felt very natural, like one big family of collaborators doing great things together," he says.
That family theme carries through into his personal life, as well. Legbeti arrived in the United States as a young immigrant with a suitcase and about $1,000, worked his way through school.
"There were so many great people that helped me along the way: my parents and siblings who trustingly launched me forward into the hands of providence; the dear US family who took me in; my mentors, friends and colleagues who continue to help me to this day," he says. "I see this award as an acknowledgment of their support, that my life and leadership philosophy is working, and that a similar path is a possibility for another after me."
