C.E. Andrews One of the core values of MorganFranklin Consulting is giving back to the community. It's no surprise, then, that the McLean, Va.-based Strategy firm has built a robust and successful Corporate Social Responsibility program that rivals much larger enterprise firms in the profession.

Giving back to the community and investing in social and charitable causes is in the fabric of MorganFranklin Consulting, and its formal CSR program speaks to the firm's core values, says C.E. Andrews, CEO of MorganFranklin Consulting.

"The CSR program empowers our employees to better their communities through volunteerism and charitable giving," he says. "We believe that the key to sustainable growth, success, and social responsibility is enabling the resources of our company to do what's right for our employees, their families, our clients, and our communities. We have created a workplace where investing time and energy to make a positive impact on the community, environment, and overall quality of life is encouraged."

Since its founding in 1998, the firm has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars and hundreds of employee volunteer hours to organizations including the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Junior Achievement of Greater Washington, The Global Good Fund, American Heart Association, March of Dimes, Wounded Warrior Project, Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Greater DC Cares, Knock Out Abuse Against Women, and The Women's Center.

MorganFranklin's endeavours also include employee volunteer, matching gift, leadership gift, and community investment programs, such as partnering with the U.S. Marine Corps to build and donate bicycles to Toys for Tots and participating in Junior Achievement's "JA in a Day" program by teaching elementary school students about financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship. Andrews is a Junior Achievement board member.

In addition, MorganFranklin Senior Manager of Corporate Social Responsibility Jeana Foster was named the 2013 Leukemia & Lymphoma Society National Capital Chapter "Woman of the Year," leading 19 contenders who collectively raised $1.145 million through 10 weeks of fundraising.

"MorganFranklin has a long history of supporting LLS, and I think that organization is a glowing example of the passion that our individuals bring to charitable giving," Andrews says. "A unique quality of our firm is that our leadership team is personally invested in giving back to the community."

MorganFranklin executives are actively involved as board members and participants in various charitable organizations. Andrews says he encourages the firm's leaders to invest their time and efforts into causes that they believe in. "Personally, I am very proud to continue my long history with LLS by serving as Chair of a local initiative to raise $1 million to accelerate a promising new treatment for the deadliest form of blood cancer. Our goal is to move this life-saving treatment from clinical trials into patients' hands."

Meanwhile, several members of the firm's leadership team are personally invested in the missions of organizations like LLS, including Managing Director Bill Hughes, who devotes hours to the organization and also serves on the executive committee for the Greater Washington Region, Light the Night Walk.

But perhaps one of the firm's biggest success stories, Andrews says, is its involvement with the Wounded Warrior Project.

The MorganFranklin Golf Classic raised more than $500,000 in contributions for the WWP in support of its mission to honor and empower wounded warriors. "MorganFranklin was the first company to partner with the WWP for a charity golf tournament, and we are proud to be part of the legacy of this organization that makes a difference in the lives of our nation's injured service members," Andrews says. "We strive to be at the forefront of the issues facing our community by making an impact."
