4. Carlisle & Gallagher Consulting Group
For Carlisle & Gallagher, the pattern is simple: Two steps up, zero steps back. Ever since making its debut at No. 8 as a Best Firm to Work For back in 2012, Carlisle & Gallagher has moved up two places each year to settle in at No. 4.
"The most critical aspect of our business is our people and we greatly value their contributions. The results of this survey validate how much our people value the culture at CG and all the opportunities, reward and recognition we provide, says Bob Gallagher, President and CEO of Carlisle & Gallagher. "This outside recognition is validation of our business model and is a direct result of our firm's core values. Consulting is an employee-based business and being recognized for the third year in a row shows that our employees are proud of the firm that they have helped build. It is because of our employees that our clients have grown to depend on CG to attract, retain and support the best people in the industry."
Gallagher says he wholeheartedly believes Carlisle & Gallagher employees are among the best in the industry, with consultants averaging 15 years of financial services experience in consumer and commercial banking, wealth management, capital markets and insurance.
And the vast majority of the firm's employees come from referrals. "Bottom line, CG is successful because of our employees," Gallagher says. "Attracting the industry's best is challenging for any firm, and we proudly recognize this achievement."
And what it does well, it does really well. In four of the six categories the survey measures—Culture, Client Engagement, Work/Life Balance and Leadership—it ranked among the Top 4. And it was No. 2 in Client Engagement.
Financial institutions come to CG because of its exclusive focus on the financial services industry, the experience of its people and the customer experience and service they receive, Gallagher says. Today, seven of the ten largest financial institutions in North America work with CG. A factor that has propelled the firm to new heights.
"In the consulting services industry, growth is very important," he says. "Growth creates career opportunities, opens new client project opportunities, and allows for the challenge and variety of work that attracts the best consultants.
Gallagher says Carlisle & Gallagher has seeded many new client accounts over the past 18 months and its track record inside a new account is about 100 percent growth year over year for the first three years, Gallagher says.
"Our customer satisfaction is extremely high and this is especially true in our newest accounts," he says. "The rapid growth and positive results lead me to believe we have another great year ahead in 2015."
What's your top priority the next 12 months?
Bob Gallagher, President and CEO, says: "We have experienced some great momentum and growth in the past 15 months. Every metric in the firm has improved on a month-over-month basis. Last year we focused on leadership development (developing leaders from within and outside of CG) and we have made tremendous progress in this area, promoting from within the organization and hiring new executives through our West Coast Expansion. Included in that growth have been the new clients and projects that our new levels of leadership have brought to CG. Over the next 12 months, CG is focused on expanding its geographic footprint to increase the feet on the ground for our clients and decrease the road warrior impact of the consulting lifestyle."
