Alvarez & Marsal has appointed Tom Teixeira as a Managing Director in its growing Risk Advisory Services practice. Teixeira will expand A&M's offering to focus on risk advisory and business resilience at a time when businesses are faced with increased complexity and regulation on a global basis.
In the UK, for example, new changes to companies applying the UK Corporate Governance Code are expected to be implemented in October 2014. Boards will need to show the regulator they clearly understand the key risks they face and the impact they have on existing business models following a robust risk assessment process.
Teixeira has nearly two decades of experience in using risk management to drive business performance.
"Effective risk management is crucial to driving business performance and assurance," Teixeira says. "I've joined because A&M provides the capability to offer a truly independent risk advisory service based on 'real life' experience."
Prior to joining A&M, Teixeira served as Practice Leader of Integrated Risk Management services for Willis Group, the global insurance brokers.
