Carlisle & Gallagher Consulting Group6. Carlisle & Gallagher

Carlisle & Gallagher sure knows how to make a second impression. Fresh off its first ever ranking on the 2012 Best Firms to Work For list, the Charlotte, N.C.-based Financial Advisory firm is back with a better ranking in 2013, nearly cracking the ultra-rarified air of the Top 5.

Bob Gallagher, President and CEO of Carlisle & Gallagher, says CG employees take pride in working at the firm, and the survey gave them a chance to share it with the world. "This is the greatest recognition a firm can have, and one of the highest compliments," he says. "Consulting is an employee-based business and being recognized for the second year in a row shows that our employees are proud of the firm that they have helped build."

In 2013, Gallagher and firm leaders took that a step farther by implementing an employee-nominated award program, called "Celebrate Success." The program was designed to enable employees to recognize peers within the organization for outstanding accomplishments on a monthly and quarterly basis, and so far, CG has had nearly 40 employees win this peer-nominated award.

"The most critical aspect of our business is our people and we greatly value their contributions," he says. "The results of the Best Firms to Work For survey validate how much our people value the culture at CG and all the opportunities, reward and recognition we provide."

Another key component to the firm's success, Gallagher says, is the growth CG has been experiencing, which "creates career opportunities, opens new client project opportunities, and allows for the challenge and variety of work that attracts the best consultants," he says. "CG is a growing firm with an entrepreneurial culture that permeates every corner of the company. From the first day on the job, every employee is encouraged to—and recognized for—contributing to the business."

Carlisle & Gallagher Consulting Group All of this, of course, leads to a culture that Carlisle & Gallagher can be proud of. So much, in fact, that CG scored third overall in the culture category on this year's survey. "We employ an incredible group of people who by their nature are service oriented; each has a willingness and ability to help others. This is reflected in their work for clients, for CG, for each other and the communities in which we all live and work," Gallagher says. "We did not set out to prescribe a culture, instead this environment evolved organically into what we know and support every day."

WHAT'S YOUR TOP PRIORITY THE NEXT 12 MONTHS?
Bob Gallagher, President and CEO of Carlisle & Gallagher, says: "We are committed to hiring and developing 'Multipliers'—leaders who use their intelligence to amplify the smarts and capabilities of the people around them and who inspire employees to stretch themselves to deliver results that surpass expectations. We believe in enabling our people to control their own destiny. We empower them with leadership training, one to one mentoring, professional support, and opportunities to drive firm and client initiatives, and expand their careers in just about any way they can dream up. Over the next 12 months, CG is focused on expanding its geographic footprint to increase the feet on the ground for our clients and decrease the road warrior impact of the consulting lifestyle."
