That's some pretty high praise, for sure.
Forero, a principal with ZS Associates in its Princeton, N.J. office where she also is leader of the firm's territory alignment and placement practice, has assisted several pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients in general medicines and specialty therapeutic areas.
She does, however, point to the client example above as one of her proudest accomplishments over the last 12 months.
In addition, she has worked with clients in areas including sales force strategy and effectiveness, customer segmentation, targeting, market research, ROI analysis of different marketing initiatives, targeting, call planning, sales force alignment and deployment and brand performance analysis.
"I am rewarded daily by seeing how our work helps the client make critical decisions," Forero says. "I also enjoy balancing my role as a practice and client service leader with my role as a mother of two."
Forero attributes much of her success to the great support she gets from her family, especially her husband and parents. "I grew up in Colombia and had the benefit to seeing a great example from my parents of how hard work and dedication can help you succeed."
Of course, none of it would be possible without the great supporting cast she's got at ZS Associates. "I'm motivated by seeing how our ideas turn into real change; by the quality of people I get to work with, my clients, my team members, peers and mentors at ZS, Forero says.
As far as winning the award, Forero says that it's "always great to get positive reinforcement and know that clients appreciate the work I do. One of my clients was willing to nominate me, and I'm very thankful," she says. "I'm also very thankful to ZS. ZS has given me great opportunities to grow and advance in my career. This is not just a win for me, but also for the firm."
Q&A: What motivates you to excel?
"I like being an advisor. My favorite moments are when clients call me to ask for my opinion. I feel great knowing that my opinion is valued and useful to others, that really smart people who run important business areas for large companies feel that I have something to add to their thinking. I feel great responsibility for having a well-informed opinion, which motivates me to work hard and learn all the time. Another great motivator for me is to be a good example for others, especially for my kids. I think of my daughter and I want to make sure she sees that as a woman you can have a successful career if you are dedicated, you study, you work hard and you have trust in yourself."
