Bain & Company announced that it has elected Bob Bechek as the firm's Worldwide Managing Director effective March 1, 2012. Bechek will succeed Steve Ellis, who served for seven years in that role.
Bechek is currently the partner who heads Bain's Boston office and the Northeast (U.S.) region. He was previously co-head of the firm's Global Telecom, Media and Technology Practice and has a long record helping clients with strategy and other general management challenges.
Prior to joining the firm in 1987, he was vice president and general manager of AKR Robotics, Inc., a company he started in the U.S. after working in mechanical research and development (R&D) for the parent company in France
