The American Hotel & Lodging Association recently released its 2008 Lodging Survey. One survey area of note concerned technology
and hospitality.

Some key findings:

  • 91 percent of responding properties indicated they were outfitted for Wi-Fi, which is a 35 percent rise from four years ago.
  • Fewer hotels are charging for Internet service. This year, 16 percent indicated this was a fee service, down from 19 percent in last year's report.
  • 35 percent of respondents said they offer in-room iPod-docking capabilities. And that's music to many travelers' ears.
