PeopleFirm, a firm that specializes in designing and implementing workforce solutions, is changing the conundrum of performance management by replacing the Performance Review with the Performance Preview—an on-going dialogue linked to desired corporate results.

By implementing performance previews across the organization, managers and HR professionals can ensure that performance management actually engages employees. Despite the broad use of performance management in 97 percent of U.S. companies, researchers have found no significant data that confirms these programs are delivering the desired results.

"The fundamentals of Performance Management emerged in the post-war era of the 1950s and they haven't changed much," says M. Tamra Chandler, CEO of PeopleFirm. "Not only do we see them as archaic, we cannot link the time and effort of Performance Management to notable performance results."
