The 2011 Best Small Firms to Work For: 15) IBB Consulting Group

For the second straight year, IBB Consulting Group, a 50-person multi-service firm focused on broadband, media and mobile, is on Consulting’s Best Small Firms to Work For list.

“What sets us apart from our competitors is that we believe in creating a culture where everyone is encouraged to share ideas, voice their opinion and ask questions,” says Dr. Imran Shah, Managing Partner at IBB. “Uniquely, our consultants are able to lead full lifecycle projects across business and technology, with a collaborative, cross-functional approach to working with clients.”

Therefore, it’s no surprise that Client Engagement was among IBB’s strongest categories on the survey. “We bring a hands-on approach to delivering a successful engagement—working ‘with’ and not just ‘for’ our clients.”

It’s this approach, as well as the type of project engagements, that keep morale high at IBB. “We strive to provide the most innovative, meaningful and diverse project experiences, which helps keep morale high, even as our consultants are some of the hardest working in the industry,” Shah says. “Even though the firm has matured, we are still operating very much in an entrepreneurial mode.”

Including, he says, the transparent model the firm employs around its pipeline. “We try to take away any ambiguity, and this makes everyone more confident in the vision of the firm.”

In addition, Shah says IBB leadership fosters a collaborative environment from others across the firm. “The leadership team is committed to providing a great work environment,” he says. “Being a Best Small Firm to Work For is a great honor.

It is validation of the culture that we have created, and we are so pleased that our consultants took the time to recognize that.”
