There’s certainly been no shortage of radical change and upheaval in healthcare over the last few years.
And there’s no indication that it’ll settle down any time soon. As new technologies, such as computerized physician order entry (CPOE) and electronic medical records (EMR) make their way to the front lines of patient care, opportunities abound for consultancies that can successfully implement and integrate new technologies seamlessly and successfully.
When done correctly, CPOE decreases delay in order completion, reduces errors related to handwriting or transcription, allows order entry at point-of-care or off-site, provides error-checking for duplicate or incorrect doses or tests, and simplifies inventory and posting of charges. But implementing an EMR and its CPOE capabilities can be a real challenge.
With that in mind, plan now to join us online March 21—at no cost—and uncover answers to such critical questions as:
  • What are the keys to successfully integrating CPOE and EMR?
  • What are some of the best practices of implementing CPOE?
  • What are the biggest inhibitors to success and how can your clients avoid them?
  • What are the consulting opportunities around CPOE and EMR?
  • What steps should you be taking right now to position your firm?
PLUS—get answers to your own questions during the live question and answer session immediately following the presentation.
Hosted by Consulting Publisher and Editor-in-Chief Joe Kornik, this webinar promises a unique perspective on integrated CPOE and EMR from several of the profession’s pre-eminent thought leaders on the topic. Each will offer an insider’s view on what is driving demand, as well as challenges and opportunities and case studies that will highlight some of the best practices right now.
Fletcher Lance, Vice President and Health Care Lead for North Highland will offer a high-level overview of CPOE and EMR and how to discover efficiencies between the two technologies.
Mareeka Bachuss, a Registered Nurse and Consultant at North Highland, will offer detailed lessons from a front-line user of the technologies in a hospital setting.
Dr. Mark Van Kooy, Director of Clinical Informatics for Aspen Advisors, a boutique healthcare IT consulting firm, will discuss one of the biggest challenges to successfully implementing CPOE and EMR, the adoption of the new technologies by physicians. He’ll also share some industry best practices.
And finally, Dr. James Gamble, the Medical Director of Informatics at Virtua, a non-profit healthcare system in that operates a network of hospitals in New Jersey, will present a case study of the implementation of CPOE at the Virtua Health and Wellness Center in Voorhees, N.J. He’ll also provide a detailed progress report.
This event is offered free of charge to consulting professionals courtesy of our sponsor, Elsevier/Gold Standard. We invite you to register now and to forward this invitation to others in your organization.
