The vast majority of articles in Consulting magazine are internally developed, written and reported by journalists. That said, by-line articles authored by subject matter experts are routinely published within its “Consultants on Consulting” section. Note: The magazine generally does not publish articles that have been previously published elsewhere.

How do I send a photo for the upcoming issue?

Any photos/images for the magazine need to be high-resolution, 300 dpi, and should be sent as JPEG, TIFF or EPS files.

What are some of the sections in the magazine?

Every issue of the magazine contains the following departments:
50-200 word pieces on new developments or trends within the industry, as well as interviews with some of the profession's leaders.

The magazine is not sold on newsstands. The only way to receive Consulting magazine digitally is through a paid or qualified subscription. What are the requirements for advertisements?

Digital Files

Document should be created at actual size of the ad. Files accepted in:
  1. Acrobat 4 or later.
  2. Corel Draw 8 or later (PC)
  3. Freehand 7 or later
  4. Illustrator 6 or later (Mac), 8 or later (PC)
  5. Pagemaker 6.5 or later
  6. Photoshop 3 or later (Mac), 5 or later (PC)
  7. Quark 3.3 or later
Include all screen and printer fonts that are used in ad (avoid TrueType), scans, and illustrations.
Photos should be grayscale or CMYK, 300 dpi resolution, TIFF format or EPS if a clipping path is used. Lineart should be 1200 dpi resolution, saved as a tiff with LZW compression applied, and in B&W or CMYK.
Zip 100 MB, Jaz 1 or 2 GB, CD-ROM.
Submit with disc(s): Must include printed directory showing all contents of disc(s) with the name of ad file and contact information, along with the printed proofs of the ad (see below). Electronic files preferred. Add $150 for processing of non-digital ad files. Call for material requirements.

Proofs

A Velox or photocopy should accompany all black and white files. All two-color and four-color process files must be accompanied by a Matchprint, Chromalins, or similar color proof. If proof is not provided, the publisher is not responsible for stripping errors or color matching. We do not recommend small type across the gutter on two-page spreads.
